2 DAY “Waves, Surf & the Beach” Acrylic Painting Workshop with Don Milner

2 DAY WORKSHOP – ‘Waves, Surf and the Beach – let’s get painting – (Made easy and exciting using Acrylics & mediums)

Brief: Are you an artist who would love to paint or already paints and have always wanted to create exciting, dynamic paintings that are filled with light, life, movement and colour.? Then this workshop will be an amazing artistic journey of growth and discovery for you.
Paint bright, exciting, colourful images with strong form, movement and textural effects and also explore many of the powerful and exciting painting opportunities offered with Acrylic paints, mediums and the Seascape.
Here’s the way forward… Immerse yourself into painting as Don shows you how to get so much more from your paintings while using this exciting and expressive Acrylic medium.  Suitable for all levels.

LEARN: How your creative approach, good techniques and using strong composition can free up your creative thinking for the best possible painting outcomes.
HOW TO: Expand on your conventional thinking & create interesting and exciting paintings using visual drama and unusual approaches, good  composition, inspiration, textural effects, brush & colouring techniques & much more…  Don is there to support and guide you every step of the  way.

DAY 1: (Saturday) 5th March 2022
Morning: Commence with introduction and purpose of the workshop
* Let get painting with Seascape elements – Don quick demo
* Start painting with some introduction Seascape painting exercises so each student gets a feel for technique and medium
Afternoon: Quick revision of morning exercises
* Don to do painting demonstration to illustrate techniques
* Students begin their major painting for the workshop
* Discuss Acrylic painting and the advantages to each student’s painting development

DAY 2: (Sunday) 6th March 2022
Review and more painting:- Brief review of Day 1 and an overview of Day 2.
Morning: Demonstration on Dynamic Brush Techniques including Seascape
* Introduce more advanced techniques for their painting
* Explore new painting opportunities and how to include into paintings
Afternoon: Quick revision of morning exercises
* Continue morning painting to completion
* Finish with a question and answer period
* Impromptu showing of work from workshop and critique.

Fee:  $295.00 for both days (12 hours tuition)

Start Time:  9.00 am to 4.00 pm (1 hour lunch break)

Workshop fee includes tuition only – BYO workshop Materials.
Please bring your own lunch – Microwave and Fridge available (morning and afternoon tea is supplied).

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Don is a professional artist, painter and art teacher with over 35 years’ experience. He enjoys and celebrates his art every day and he honours a personal commitment of sharing his knowledge, experience and skills with other artists offering regular themed painting workshops throughout Queensland, Australia and New Zealand.

Highlights include winning a National Portrait Painting Competition with “Magus” in 2008. Then in 2009 winning a Queensland Portrait Painting Competition with “Gypsy Boy” which won Best Painting in the Professional/Advanced category. The prize was a scholarship with the Brisbane Artists Academe.

Don regularly tutors workshops in Oils, Acrylics, Pastel, Charcoal and Drawing in various themes and genres. Landscape, Seascape, Still Life, Portraiture and many other special themes created for the needs of specific art groups.

Terms & Conditions (Refund Policy) – Please read before booking a workshop.

If Two Sisters Art or Don Milner need cancel this workshop  – all students will receive a full refund.

If you choose to withdraw your enrolment to this workshop you will receive a refund LESS a $50 administrative fee.  All requests must be placed in writing and emailed to art@twosisters.com.au

Should you need to withdraw from a class due to enforced isolation, please provide a medical certificate in advance of the workshop starting and you will receive a FULL refund.

Please note that for less than 7 days notice, we will review your circumstances and do our best to help. Time allowing, we will always try to find a replacement for your spot.

We are actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation and following the Australian Government updates to help mitigate the risk of this virus being spread to our community.

If there are any changes we will notify you immediately.

If a workshop does not meet our required numbers to proceed, a full refund will be offered or you may transfer the monies over to another date for the workshop.
