Mosaics Workshop – Margaret Shaw – 27th & 28th November 2021

Date: Saturday 27th and Saturday 28th November 2021.

In this workshop you will work with china, glass and other materials to create your own version of a mosaic creature.

Marg will teach you her methods for working in mosaic including –

• image selection, transfer and substrate preparation.
• interpretation of shape and how to translate that with mosaic media.
• cutting techniques for different materials.
• working with adhesives and their various applications.
• creating a textured background using tinted adhesive.

Price $320- which includes all materials, substrate and a fused eye.  Please bring any sentimental or meaningful china you would like to include in your masterpiece.

Requirements

You will need to bring your own lunch (fridge & Microwave provided).   I will supply tea, coffee and snacks for morning and afternoon tea.

Please wear enclosed footwear and suitable clothing to the workshop (noting that mosaic can be a messy activity!).  You may wish to bring an apron, but I will have some available.  Pease bring a mask that sits comfortably on your face.  NOTE: While wearing a mask is not mandatory for the duration of the workshop, (unless government guidelines change) it will be essential for when you are mixing adhesive.

Tools:  Please bring along the usual tools that you mosaic with. A pair of wheeled nippers and safety glasses are essential, however I will have (sanitized) spare tools and safety glasses available to use if needed.

COVID19

To ensure the welfare and well being of all students, the workshop will be following a COVID19 Safe Plan following current government guidelines.  Please do not attend the workshop if you are feeling unwell or  experiencing any COVID symptoms (fever, a cough, sore throat or shortness of breath).

Cancellation Policy:

There is a standard  $50 administration fee that applies to any workshop cancellation.

If Marg or myself are unable to run the workshop due to illness or other extreme circumstances, we will postpone the workshop to a later date and inform you of this as early as possible
